We are turning corners and moving forward in all areas this week!
Students will dig deep into their interpretive work as we enter the next bend of our interpretive reading unit, and we will wrap up this first narrative piece of writing before beginning a second, soon-to-be-polished story. This is the last week for the September Achieve 3000 goal. Students should have completed FOUR articles/activities with a score of 75% or higher by September 30th at midnight. We will continue to have time in class weekly to work toward this goal, but students should also build at least one Achieve article into their at home reading routines on a weekly basis. Establishing a strong routine now will help set them up for success in future months when the goal returns to the standard of 8 articles per month. This week, we will send progress reports home on Tuesday, and we're looking forward to seeing you all on Thursday night at 7:15! We have a lot of important academic expectations we'd like to discuss with everyone so we can help you support your students at home. Just a few more important requests this week: * Please consider sending in a candy donation for the PTA Carnival. * Stay tuned for information from room mom team about Literary Pumpkin project. :) * Boosterthon pledges are due Thursday. * Mrs. KK Cherney is looking for volunteers for the Book Fair next week. If you are available to donate an hour (or more) of time, please let her know. I'll leave you with this short video we shared this week as an extension of last week's reading test, "Kevin & Daisy". Enjoy!
